Alabaré are looking to recruit 2 Peer Support Workers at our Mental Health Service in Swindon ( base to be confirmed).
37.5 hours per week to meet the requirements of the service and to include unsociable hours, evening, weekends and bank holidays. You will work as part of the new Mental Health framework that will sit alongside and compliment those provided by primary and secondary care.

Job Specifics:
- Hourly rate £12.70 rising to £12.88 after completing a successful probation period.
- Full-time annual salary of £24,765.00 rising to £25,116.00.
- 37.5 hours per week.
- shifts to cover some weekdays, weekends, unsociable hours and bank holidays
Benefits:
- Double time on nominated bank holidays.
- Minimum of 24 days holiday (FTE) plus Bank Holidays.
- Paid travel time with mileage paid at 45p per mile.

- Where applicable, Sleepovers are paid at a competitive rate of £70 per sleep.

In return for this, we are looking for someone who has:
- A Willingness to learn.
- You must be currently resident in the UK.
- You must have the right to work in the UK.
- You must be confident working as part of a team and on your own.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Can maintain professional boundaries at all times.
- You must be friendly and well-organised with an excellent work ethic.
- You must have experience and understanding of living with and managing mental health issues or supporting someone in emotional distress, including understanding the barriers to meaningful living.
- An understanding of when and where to signpost is essential.
- Have an understanding of substance misuse and self harm
- Car driver preferred with access to a road worthy vehicle and business insurance.
Alabaré are committed to ensuring the well-being and safety of all our service users, this includes developing, implementing and maintaining effective recruitment policies and procedures to promote the safeguarding of children, young people and vulnerable adults. Before commencing employment, the HR Department undertakes pre-employment checks on all applicants who have been offered a job with the Charity. These checks include an Enhanced DBS, which will be renewed every 3 years, the right to live and work in the UK, as well as two satisfactory references.
All staff will be required to complete training on Safeguarding Adults and Young People within their first week of employment.
