The Physical Activity Clinical Champion Relationship Manager is part of a national consortium working to shape the development of the place-based programme so it can grow across England and help improve lives through increasing physical activity.

This is a new and exciting opportunity to work as part of a Sport England project taking a place-based approach to the highly valued national training programme. Based with Intelligent Health you will support the growth of the programme that delivers healthcare professionals peer training on physical activity to improve patient outcomes.

Initially focused on working closely with partners in the 4 pilot areas you will lead stakeholder management and communications and build understanding on how to maintain, support and scale the initiative.

You will act as a key liaison for the pilot funders and manage relationships with internal and external stakeholders throughout the lifecycle of the pilot.

You will also pro-actively lead the development and management of new places who want to deliver the PACC model. This will include building contracts and establishing delivery models with, ICBs, Active Partnerships and Public Health teams. The success of that work could lead to the role being extended to permanent.

You will have excellent relationship building and management skills and experience in collaborative funding development and stakeholder management.

Ideally you will have a background in health and be aware of national public health strategies and the role physical activity can play to improve health.

Physical Activity Clinical Champions (PACC)

PACC training was initially developed as part of the Moving Health Professionals Programme, run by Sport England and Public Health England (now the Office for Health Improvement and Disparities ). In June 2023, a consortium consisting of The Advanced Wellbeing Research Centre, Sheffield, Faculty of Sport and Exercise Medicine UK and Intelligent Health began a transition phase to take over the support and running of the programme to enable a sustainable platform for the future.

The PACC programme provides free face to face (online or in person) training to people working in healthcare, and this is delivered nationwide by a number of different physical activity champions. The new model which is currently in development aims to provide this training, whilst also developing resources and training in places throughout the UK.

Physical Activity Clinical Champions is an initiative that offers free clinician to clinician training to people working in healthcare, which supports them to improve patient care and outcomes.

Core Responsibilities

· Work with the client in new places to develop and adapt the PACC model to fit with their local objectives.

· Lead stakeholder engagement and communications relating to pilot sites, scale and sustain.

· Recruit new areas, building relationships with public health, NHS and other lead organisations with the aim to create new PACC opportunities.

· Set up contracts on behalf of the consortium to formally engage a new place.

· Act as a key account manager for the place-based funders and support the management of productive relationships with internal and external stakeholders throughout the lifecycle of the pilot.

· Support the place-based funders with marketing & comms relating to PACC training and the place-based approach within place.

· Report on progress with identified place-based funders and potential new funders to the PACC consortium

· Work with other members of the consortium to embed learning and process evaluation knowledge and share best practice within place-based PACC cohort.

· Assist the consortium evaluation team in collecting PACC output information from places to enable the consortium to meet Sport England funder reporting commitments.
