JOB SUMMARY
BioWatt is a developer and operator of renewable energy projects throughout the UK. Due to considerable growth in new projects, there is an opportunity to join the development and construction team. Based in Bedford but working on large scale capital works sites in development and construction throughout the UK, the role will involve the management of various development, front-end design, engineering, contract management and construction projects being undertaken for BioWatt and large corporate clients.
SUMMARY OF ROLE
BioWatt is involved from concept, through planning, detailed design, tendering, construction, commissioning to full operation of renewable natural gas (RNG) production projects. The role will be within our Development Team and the following is a summary of some the works you may be undertaking:
Development:
- Managing the GA and elevation designs for planning purposes
- Arranging Site Investigations
- Liaising with regulatory authorities and utilities (e.g. Highways, Planning Authorities, Comms, power, gas, water, etc) for permissions and consents
- Preparing outline budgets, programmes and designs
Front-end Engineering and Design
- Tendering for various construction packages; tender evaluation and recommendations
- Detailed design prior to contract
- Pricing and budgeting
- Detailed Programme development
- Managing preparations of Tender docs, Works Information packs, design packs, bidder data-rooms
- Supporting client Due Diligence
- Contract/ Scope/ Price negotiation
Construction Management:
- Project and Programme management
- Project Meetings
- Site visits and inspections (e.g. FAT/ SAT)
- Client meetings
- Contract management
As part of a small high-value team - you'll be working on numerous interesting projects for blue-chip, multi-bn, international clients helping grow the green-economy in the UK.
EXPERIENCE and SKILLS
- Understand design drawings, P&IDs, engineering drawings, PFDs etc
- Good Knowledge of building & construction
- Knowledge of construction contracts and commercials
- Knowledge of the Construction Act and CDM Regs
- Good understanding of google/ microsoft/ project management tools and software
- Mathematically competent with sound spreadsheet skills
- Civil Engineering background (helpful)
- Highly Organised & detailed
- Critical thinking & problem solving skills
- Good communication skills
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: £50,000.00-£65,000.00 per year
