Job Title: Move Together Bucks Project Officer

Department: Sport Development and Physical Activity

Salary: £23,000 - £28,000 (depending on experience)

Hours: Full time - 40 hours per week - 1 year contract

Main Role Focus: Move Together Bucks coordinator

Location: The role location is flexible, with a day a week in our office at Halton Tennis Centre, Aylesbury, plus remote working. Travel to sessions/projects across Bucks required.

This role focuses on supporting our Move Together Buckinghamshire project as we move into year 2 of delivery. As a project officer for MTB, you will be integral to delivering real impact to the lives of Buckinghamshire residents. Your focus will be on helping to grow the project, reaching as many in need individuals as possible within the project specification.

You will be supported by a team of PARS (Physical Activity Referral Specialists), a project manager and a project lead.

You’ll lead on project elements including:

  • PARS coordination – Triaging referrals to the most appropriate PARS, ensuring the team is supported to deliver person centered plans with meaningful impact.
  • Partnerships and marketing – ensuring MTB is embedded in the health and physical activity sector in Buckinghamshire whilst leading on effective marketing
  • Evaluation – measuring impact and producing clear, meaningful reports and case studies

At the core of everything you do is a shared mission: helping inactive residents across Buckinghamshire become more physically active. Alongside this, your work will support stronger community connections, improved health and wellbeing outcomes and effective partnership working.

Responsibilities

  • Triage referrals into the MTB service
  • Ensure timely and accurate communication with individuals referred into the service
  • On-going development of projects such as monthly planning, managing PARS on a weekly basis or monthly reporting
  • Monitor project progress, evaluate outcomes and report on key performance indicators
  • Collaborate with local community groups and health and wellbeing partners to identify needs and opportunities for new initiatives, fostering positive relationships throughout
  • Develop and deliver initiatives that are accessible, inclusive and meet the needs of diverse community members
  • Actively manage outreach to key partners, including GPs, NHS Trusts, and community organisations, to secure referrals and promote the service
  • Actively participate in partnership meetings, working groups and relevant networks to share knowledge and best practices
  • Produce marketing materials to promote MTB
  • Occasional weekend and evening working required to attend sessions. Time off in lieu in return of any hours completed outside core contract hours

Qualifications and skills (Ideal candidate):

  • Degree in sports management, public health, project management or a related field (or equivalent work experience)
  • Proven experience in sports development, project management or community engagement
  • A level 2 in exercise referral or personal training (desired)
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage and motivate diverse individuals and groups
  • Experience in partnership development and collaboration with external stakeholders
  • Experience in creating and coordinating digital marketing content, particularly for social media outreach aimed at generating referrals
  • Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
  • Proficiency in data collection, analysis and reporting
  • Passion for improving individual’s health and wellbeing
  • Knowledge of Buckinghamshire
  • Must drive and have access to their own car
