About Us
Coram SCARF Lancashire & Cumbria is a local delivery partner of Coram SCARF — part of Coram, the UK's oldest children's charity with over 275 years of history. For 40 years, Coram SCARF has been visiting primary schools to deliver life-changing PSHE and RSHE education, and we ourselves celebrate our 30th anniversary this year.
We're a small, passionate team dedicated to giving children the knowledge, skills and confidence to make positive choices about their health, wellbeing and relationships. Our work is fun, engaging and genuinely makes a difference.

The Role
This is a brilliant opportunity for a creative, energetic and child-focused individual to join our team, delivering inspiring workshops in primary schools across North Cumbria.
You'll bring Coram SCARF's acclaimed sessions to life — working with children aged 3–11 on topics including:
- Physical health and wellbeing, including how the body works, drugs education and resilience
- Mental wellbeing
- Online behaviours and staying safe
- Puberty, relationships and sex education (RSE), using correct biological language and discussions will include conception, pregnancy and birth as well as healthy relationships.
Children meet Harold the Giraffe and friends, engage with drama, short films and discussion — and leave with real knowledge and confidence. Your sessions will be memorable, impactful and fun.
What We Are Looking For
You might be a teacher, higher level teaching assistant - or you might come from a completely different background. What matters most is that you:
- Have a relevant degree and experience working with children aged 3–11
- Are charismatic, warm and enthusiastic - able to captivate a room full of children
- Believe passionately in children's right to quality health and wellbeing education
- Are self-motivated and entrepreneurial- willing to build relationships with schools and grow our presence in North Cumbria
- Are confident working closely with teachers to embed our work in their wider provision
- Are willing and able to travel to schools across the region, including early starts — a full UK driving licence is essential (travel expenses paid)
- Are committed to equal opportunities and inclusion
This is an active role that involves moving around and carrying equipment. You'll be trained to use drama, discussion and dynamic teaching strategies that make PSHE sessions genuinely memorable.
Training and Development
You'll receive approximately 40 days of comprehensive, paid in-depth training during term time - some of which may take place outside the region and involve overnight stays. This investment in you reflects our commitment to delivering the highest quality education to every child we work with.
