Purchasing Co-ordinator

Ling Design is one of the UK’s longest established publishers of premium greetings cards with a heritage that stretches back to the 1950s. Today we supply retailers from large UK PLCs to smaller chains and independents along with customers around the world. We are also a leading supplier of greetings cards for the charity sector.

We are seeking a Purchasing and Export Coordinator to be a key player based at our offices in the beautiful city of Bath who will be managing the sourcing and supply of our Penny Kennedy gift packaging category and also be involved in our fantastic card procurement too.

Your responsibilities will include forecasting, liaising with our creative team, end to end dealing with suppliers and managing the critical path to ensure that our products arrive on time and to specification.

You will be comfortable with reports and data, good at providing insight and understand the importance of scheduling and be knowledgeable in shipping and container fill from the Far East. Plus, you will be used to working in a design led, time sensitive environment.

The successful candidate will have the drive to deliver the critical path, is highly commercial, has worked with physical products before and understands the importance of excellent execution of the supply chain element of Far East sourcing.

This role will suit someone with procurement experience, perhaps from a printing background, but certainly in the FMCG arena. Your strong budgeting, negotiation and IT ability will also be essential as well as your excellent attention to detail and effective communication skills in order to work collaboratively across the business.
