Acculabs Diagnostics are seeking a meticulous Quality Manager to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing and implementing quality control measures to ensure our laboratory meet regulatory standards and contract expectations.

The ideal candidate will have an interest in science and healthcare. Management and laboratory skills are required, including experience in quality assessments and audits.

Duties:

  • Ensuring the company’s Quality Policy is always upheld and that the laboratory conforms to the ISO:15189 Standard.
  • Annual policy & handbook reviews
  • Progress monitoring of the company’s quality objectives.
  • Act as the lead point of contact and liaison for external quality assessors.
  • Act as the key host during UKAS assessment visits.
  • Responsible for preparation and submission of UKAS Extension to Scope applications.
  • Design and develop a suitable audit program, which should ensure coverage of all aspects of testing throughout the laboratory and all elements of the ISO:15189 Standard.
  • Ensure audit findings are raised, communicated to all relevant parties, and actions followed up within appropriate timescales.
  • Conduct incident investigations with an objective approach, ensuring the root cause is correctly identified, allowing for suitable corrective action to be agreed upon and executed by the relevant personnel.
  • Arrange and conduct routine Quality Meetings, ensuring coverage of required topics to be discussed in accordance with ISO:15189.
  • Carry out Quality Control related training where applicable.
  • Oversee and supervise the Health and Safety officer role and advise on the right course of action/s.
  • Participate and be actively involved in the senior management monthly meeting.

Skills:

  • The candidate must be able to work to a recognised standard such as ISO/IEC 17025:2005, ISO 9001:2000, ISO15189:2012.
  • Comply with risk assessments for work areas and adhere to COSHH assessments.
  • Maintain strong research and analytical skills.
  • Be able to handle confidential matters, requiring discretion with flexibility in responding to shifting priorities and interruptions with a professional outlook
  • Demonstrate excellent judgment and the ability to solve problems proactively
  • In-depth knowledge of industry regulations
