Full job description

We know the Veterinary Nursing world is full of people who care. We also know that it often affords a very linear career pathway and we want to change that. We are excitedly recruiting for an ambitious RVN to join our team (currently 3 experienced RVNs, 2 students, 1 ANA) at our lovely site in East Sheen where we act as a hybrid clinic: seeing both first opinion and referral cases.

Why Pet People?

  • Award-winning Independent Practice
  • Exciting caseload and our own CT machine
  • Employee share scheme
  • Unlimited CPD
  • Compressed hours
  • Super friendly and welcoming team
  • Bright modern clinic with fantastic amenities and equipment.

We want to work with a people-person with the following skills:

  • Excellent team player – wants to be part of a positive work culture
  • High level clinical standards and clinical curiosity
  • Ambitious career aims – whether it’s further clinical development, interesting caseload, carving a role within a practice or mentoring others – Pet People has it all!
  • Entrepreneurial, positive mindset to grow the business and be part of the journey

  • Taking part in the morning Huddle – as an Independent practice we want everyone to have a voice
  • Enable the nursing team for the smooth running of the day to include Ops, nurse consults, cleaning, lab samples, client communication, training of students and emergency case management
  • Liaise with Vet and CCA team to optimise clinical and customer outcomes
  • Clinical work to include: nurse consults, GA planning and monitoring, patient recovery, bloods, cannula placement, hospitalised patient nursing
  • Support colleagues to perform great and pioneering clinical work and exceptional customer service
  • Be part of a social team – you spend more time at the practice than you do sleeping so it’s worth having fun: we’ve done rock climbing, art classes, yoga sessions together.

The practical bits

  • Salary up to 34,000 p/a
  • Compressed hours resulting in a 4-day week or 5- shorter day week if preferred
  • Term-time working considered
  • 1 in 6 weekends (both days)

  • Gym membershipIn addition to excellent levels of pay, based on experience and performance, we offer employees the opportunity to take part in our share scheme where we can all benefit from the long-term growth of the business. We also offer additional benefits such as gym memberships, bike to work schemes and wellness programs to look after both your mental and physical health.
