Full job description
Can you be a voice for people in City and Hackney?
Would you like to help shape the future of health and wellbeing in City and Hackney Neighbourhoods?
We are looking for a small group of residents of City and Hackney aged 18 and over to join our service to help us redesign, plan, develop and improve our services. We're interested in hearing from people from a wide and diverse range of backgrounds.
The Neighbourhoods Programme is all about understanding the needs of local communities and working with residents to make things better. This is an exciting opportunity to get involved in integrated work in healthcare. You will work with Homerton Healthcare’s improvement team, and you will be supported to use your lived experiences to influence and shape health and care services.
· This is a fixed term contract for one year
· We are asking for a commitment of 4 hours per week
· You will be paid £12.09 per hour
· You will receive training to support you in the role
· While working is flexible, you will need to attend monthly in-person review meetings
About us
The Neighbourhoods Programme brings residents, voluntary sector, health, education and care services together in City & Hackney to work together on what matters to local people and address health inequalities.
We believe that resident voices and building the community are important to the area’s health and wellbeing. We want to improve our services and ensure that we provide the best care possible. The key to achieving this is through feedback and involvement with people in the community.
We are committed to involving people in the community in a meaningful way in the planning, delivery, organisation and improvement of services. It is important to us that the views of people in the community are valued and acted upon.
We believe that people in the community should expect:
· To be treated as experts about themselves and their own health
· To be asked their opinion
· To have their views considered when decisions about their care are made
· To be fully informed and involved in the plan that is made for their care
About you
You will live in City & Hackney and be a motivated and committed individual, who wants to make an impact in your community and develop your own skill and experience.
We are committed to equal opportunities, and have been approved as a Disability Confident Employer
