Sales Assistant – Kirkcaldy

Steven MacDonald Lighting are looking for a Sales Assistant to join our dynamic team in the Kirkcaldy showroom. This position offers meaningful career development in retail and the chance to be part of an innovative, business where you can progress professionally.

As a Sales Retail Assistant, we expect that you will:

  • Sell and market our diverse product inventory
  • Maintaining and creating client relations on a day to day basis
  • Devise strategies to open up opportunities in new markets
  • Collaborate with leadership, team members, and suppliers
  • Provide professional advice and guidance throughout the clients entire purchasing journey
  • Be aware of competitors' strategies, pricing structures, and products offered through analysing current markets and predicting future trends
  • Stay organized and on top of your duties by keeping meticulous records, from sales call agendas to expense summaries
  • Operate IT systems such as Intact IQ, Microsoft Office package, Microsoft Teams, and Outlook

As an individual in this role, you should demonstrate the following attributes:

  • A helpful demeanour towards customers and be acutely aware of their individual requirements
  • The ideal candidate would be able to work on their own initiative and adapt to changing scenarios
  • Remain current and be prepared to learn new technologies and applications
  • Previous retail experience would be preffered, however, is non-essential for the right candidate
  • An interest and understanding of interior design, lighting, and home decor would be advantageous
