Full job description

Reporting to the Business Development Manager, the primary purpose of the Sales Executive is to deliver sales growth across all of the company's product ranges. The product range consists of a wide variety of hi-reliability opto-electronics and other products for the space, aerospace and military sectors.

The Sales Executive will work within the Sales and Marketing team to develop customer relationships, respond to sales inquiries, follow up sales leads and proactively seek out sales opportunities.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Deliver on monthly, quarterly and annual sales targets
  • Grow, develop and nurture the sales pipeline
  • Ensure continuous communication to the sales and marketing team by collecting and sharing competitor and sales prospect information
  • Generate and maintain a credible sales forecast
  • Prepare reports detailing prospects, successes and potential losses
  • Work with current and prospective customers to identify areas for development and growth
  • Support external Sales Representatives and Distributors
  • Produce sales quotations and chase these through to final outcome.

The successful candidate will have:

  • Sales knowledge gained through operational development or a similar sales role
  • Business development and relationship building experience
  • Pro-active with exemplary communication skills
  • Strong sales skills
  • Ability to work within differing markets
  • Excellent organisational skills
  • Willingness to travel

Hours of Work

Mon-Thurs 9am - 5pm, Fridays 9am - 3pm

28 Days Holiday (Including Bank Holidays)

Job Types: Permanent, Full-time

Salary: £22,000.00-£24,000.00 per year

  • Peterlee, SR8 2RR: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (preferred)


  • B2B sales: 3 years (preferred)
