Full job description

HMR is a successful, London-based, full-service contract research organisation (CRO). We are looking for an experienced SAS programmer to support programming activities related to the analysis and reporting of data from clinical trials. Working within our Statistics and Data Management group, there is the opportunity to be office based in North West London or to work from home.

Candidate specification

  • Educated to degree level within a computing, science or mathematical subject
  • 2+ years' SAS programing experience, within the pharmaceutical industry, preferably Phase I clinical trials
  • Experience of CDISC standards and guidelines, including SDTM, ADaM, define.xml and TFLs.
  • Hands-on experience manipulating data using SAS
  • Proficient in using SAS/Macro, Proc Report and ODS
  • Excellent written and verbal communication
  • A clear thinker with a logical approach
  • Hard-working with a positive attitude
  • Aptitude for learning and developing your skill set


  • Planning, developing and validating SAS programs to produce SDTM, ADaM, define.xml, Tables Figures and Listings (TFLs)
  • Review and QC of CDISC related files
  • Data interrogation and exploratory data analysis
  • Input into department process improvement, including creating and testing SAS macros
  • Maintenance of in-house programming standards
  • Communication with clients and team members across departments
