Job Summary

Pointer Ltd. are recruiting for a Security Engineer to join our team in Shropshire.

As a Security Engineer you will be responsible for the installation, servicing, and maintenance of Intruder Detection, Hatch Protection, and associated Security Systems across client sites.

The role involves ensuring compliance with industry standards, delivering exceptional customer service, and maintaining strong working relationships with clients and colleagues.

This role will require you to be flexible and willing to travel within East Anglia.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Install, service, and maintain Intruder Detection and Hatch Protection systems in line with company and industry standards.
  • Communicate effectively with clients, providing updates on progress and system operation, ensuring customer satisfaction.
  • Liaise with Line Manager and Schedulers regarding planned works, providing regular updates and ensuring required materials and equipment are available.
  • Complete all documentation accurately and on time, maintaining compliance with company procedures.
  • Work safely at all times, adhering to Risk Assessments, Method Statements, and all Health and Safety requirements.
  • Maintain tools, calibrated test equipment, and company vehicle in accordance with company standards.
  • Ensure secure handling and storage of client keys, tools, and materials on and off site.
  • Identify and communicate opportunities for system enhancements or additional works.
  • Participate in the weekend on-call rota as required and support other service teams when needed.

Required Experience & Qualifications

  • 3–5 years’ experience in the installation, service, and maintenance of security or intruder systems.
  • Experience with client communication, documentation, and system commissioning.
  • Demonstrated understanding of safety, compliance, and quality standards.
  • Proven experience installing and maintaining security systems, particularly Honeywell Galaxy.
  • Strong planning, organisational, and customer service skills.
  • Excellent communication and computer literacy.
  • Flexible and willing to travel.
  • Awareness of NSI industry standards and safe working practices.
  • Certification for Sentinor equipment (training provided), CSCS, IPAF, and PASMA cards.
  • Current full driving license.
  • Must be eligible to work in the UK.
