Hot Numbers Coffee Ltd is a vibrant and independent coffee roasting business serving fresh and exciting food at our three busy cafés in Cambridgeshire. Our Roastery, in Shepreth, is also the base for our commercial bakery and pizzeria.
An exciting opportunity has opened for a Senior Chef to join our team at our town store cafes. We are looking for someone who is dedicated and has a passion for food and a good understanding of modern brunch trends. This role will require you to work alongside the Head Chef to help run a small team of chefs, assist at delegating tasks in order to run an effective, clean & safe kitchen whilst producing the best food possible. You will also be working closely with our Executive Chef in helping the daily running of the kitchen as well as having an opportunity to have input on the seasonal menu changes and specials. All our dishes are made on site using the fresh produce delivered daily. We expect a professional and flexible approach to the job, with excellent time keeping standards being critical.
Main duties and Skills:
- Oversee the preparation and service of our brunch menu, ensuring all of the preparation and dishes made by other chefs are up to the company standard.
- Confidently lead your team of chefs and kitchen staff, ensuring good communication and supporting their development at work.
- Ensuring consistency. This includes preparation, service and portion control.
- Supervision of new kitchen staff.
- Maintaining a high level of food safety and cleanliness at all times in the kitchen, adhere to SFBB standards, make sure check sheets are completed everyday.
- Stock control and management, ensuring good levels of stock whilst minimising wastage.
- Cook our brunch dishes to order as well as preparation of our daily menus.
- Maintaining open lines of communication.
- Additional training may be available to the successful candidate.

Availability and hours of work: This is a full-time job role. The successful applicant would be looking to dedicate at least 6 months to the role due to our employee on-boarding training program here at Hot Numbers. Unfortunately, if you have plans to travel or study this role is not for you. You will be required to be available weekends. A normal working day will most likely start no earlier then 6.00am and finish no later then 4.30pm.
Employment: Your starting pay will be reviewed with successful completion of a 6-month probationary period within your role.

Pay: From £12.70 per hour
