About the Role:
As a Senior Power Systems Engineer at Enspec, you'll be immersed in a variety of exciting projects, ranging from steady-state studies to dynamic analyses, all aimed at ensuring optimal performance and reliability. From conducting load flow assessments to evaluating fault levels and beyond, you'll play a pivotal role in cutting-edge power systems engineering.
Your typical week will involve a diverse range of consulting tasks, where you'll leverage both technical prowess and project management leadership to ensure seamless execution. You'll cultivate strong client relationships, positioning our power systems services for future success, and spearhead the development and delivery of compelling project proposals.
Key Responsibilities Include:
- Performing steady-state studies such as load flow, fault level, and reactive compensation assessments.
- Conducting dynamic studies, including frequency and voltage stability within the G99 standard.
- Analysing P28 Transformer Energisation and Flicker.
- Carrying out harmonic G5/5 analysis, power quality assessments, and filter design.
- Undertaking transient over-voltage and insulation coordination simulation studies.
- Leading control interaction studies and earthing assessments.
- Overseeing protection coordination and Arc Flash studies.
- Providing grid connection support to onshore and offshore developers.
- Designing and programming solution components, with a focus on harmonic filters and reactive compensation.
What We're Looking For:
We're seeking a standout candidate with a proven track record in power systems engineering. Armed with an electrical engineering degree or equivalent qualification, along with a minimum of 2 years' experience in UK Grid Code Compliance Studies, you're well-versed in the nuances of power systems analysis and proficient in industry-standard software packages, including DIgSILENT PowerFactory, PSS/E, ETAP, PSCAD, IPSA, and CDEGs.

Working Hours, Salary, and Benefits:
Working days are Monday - Friday, 8am to 4:30pm Monday - Thursday and 8am to 1:30pm on Friday, with a half hour lunch.
Holidays include 24 days plus bank holidays.
This is a full-time position with plenty of development and progression opportunities. Salary starts at £55,000 (negotiable depending on experience).
