Full job description

As Service & Calibration Engineer, you will be required to work both in the office and on customer sites both in the UK and Worldwide. This role will often require you to work on your own initiative, sometimes under pressure.

The position will also encompass team working on larger projects. The organisation intends to recruit trainee and/or lesser qualified members of staff and from time to time you may be required to provide assistance to their continued learning and development.

Basic Function

To carry out duties and activities allotted under the job title and contract of employment including general aspects associated with the office environment and Health & Safety.

Reporting directly to the Service & Commissioning Manager, will not be responsible for the management of any staff.

Main Duties

  • To carry out service & calibration work on food and confectionery process systems as required by the business. This work will include working away from home on clients sites UK & worldwide.
  • To assist in fielding and then progressing e:mails & phone calls regarding the supply of spare parts as and when required.
  • To provide additional support to installation teams relating to site wiring / modifications/ testing and commissioning.
  • To ensure all departmental procedures & company health and safety systems are adhered to and any issued PPE or safety related equipment is utilised as and when required.
  • To ensure any specific customer site rules are followed at all times.
  • Any other duties as requested by management.

Skill set requirement

  • Electrical bias
  • Mechanical advantageous
  • Advanced modern apprenticeship or equivalent
  • HNC electrical electronic engineering (ONC Minimum)
  • Food industry experience but not essential
  • PLC knowledge and experience
  • Electrical and mechanical fault finding / solutions
  • Able to work alone in a position of responsibility
  • Good communicator
  • Flexible working attitude
  • Available for working regular overtime and weekends
  • Windows OS including office

Regular work away from home including overseas work. (Being away for long periods is common to this role)
