About the Job:
An exciting opportunity has arisen for the right candidate to join a fast-growing hire business, working from our head office in Barnwell (near Peterborough). As part of the service team you will be required to work nationwide on customer job sites to carry out planned service and maintenance activities and respond to breakdowns as required, You should have a minimum of 2 years’ experience in a similar role working with Construction Hoists / Transport Platforms or MCWP's. The successful candidate will be working with our modern fleet of machinery from brands such as Geda, Bocker and Stros, helping to deliver the best possible service for our customers.

The Role:
The successful candidate will join our service team operating from our main offices near Peterborough but working predominantly in the field on our customers sites nationwide. Your duties in this role will include:
- Carry out planned service and maintenance of equipment.
- Responding to breakdowns.
- Electrical and mechanical fault finding.
- Using manufacturers drawings to assist other Engineers in fault finding.
- Carry out LOLER Thorough Examinations on hoists.
- Operator demonstration in the safe use of equipment.
- Keep service vehicles clean inside and out at all times.
- Complete relevant paperwork accurately in a timely manner.
- Communicating with the Service Manager and operations team regarding the status of call outs / breakdowns.
- Ensure the health and safety regulations are adhered to at all times.
- Wear and maintain provided PPE at all times.
The Ideal Candidate:
You will be an experienced Service Engineer with a desire to develop your skills and advance your career, you should be able to demonstrate:
- Previous electrical & mechanical background working with construction hoists, Transport Platforms, MCWP's or similar.
- Knowledge of relevant legislation covering Constructions Hoists & Transport Platforms.
- Experience of working with inverters and PLC’s.
- City & Guilds / BTEC National Diploma / NVQ3 or above in electrical or mechanical disciplines.
- Attention to detail and accuracy.
- Flexible working / unsociable hours, and work away from home occasionally.
- Rescue / Harness / Working at Height Training.
- Ability to work efficiently while under pressure.
- Ability to work as part of a team.
- Valid CSCS blue card
- Full and clean driving license.
- Be approachable and supportive to other team members and customers.
- Excellent numeracy & literacy and communication skills.
