Mechanic –Service Technician / Motorsport Engineer

Salary – Competitive Salary (negotiable depending on experience)
Hours – Min of 37.5 Hours Per week (occasional Saturdays) + Race Weekends as required.

Car Friend, who performs general vehicle servicing & repairs and

TTR Motorsport, Performance mechanics, who race, prepare and support trackside both throughout the UK and Europe. Specialists in Fast Road, Track & Race Car build, maintain and Prep.

TTR Garage Services LTD is looking to recruit the next team member to help take our company to new strengths and continue growth.

This role will primarily be a "Service Technician" with the option to progress and work on the more complex tasks such as fast road, track and race builds once the skills have been assessed and work quality and consistency has been established.

The right candidate will work under the direct supervision of the workshop manager. While teamwork is key, there will be elements of the role that will require you to work under your own initiative.

A varied skillset is required for this role. A good understanding of servicing, repairs & diagnostics on a wide range of vehicles is essential.

In addition to good workshop practices, this position would suit someone who has a passion for motorsport.

Our team spends time away from the workshop providing essential mechanical support for in house built and maintained track and race cars in various championships.

Most often we are supporting endurance races, anything from 6 – 24hour races, so, the right candidate must be able to thrive and be excited about being part of a fast pace ‘pit crew’. While most of the racetracks are UK based, we do travel within Europe.

Qualifications & Training Requirements:
The right candidate should:

  • Conscientious and reliable – Good time-keeping skills - Be a Team Player
  • Minimum GCSE Grade C in English & Maths (or equivalent qualification) Fully recognised qualifications minimum Level 2 (proof required).
  • Minimum of 2 year’s experience
  • Flexible approach to working hours
  • Ability to travel both within the UK & EU. Weekends away (up to 7 days occasionally)
  • Full driving Licence
  • Ability to provide credible references upon request once a job offer has been accepted.
  • A good range of personal tools.
  • Have a keen interest in cars and motorsport.
  • Be enthusiastic with a good work ethic.
  • Have an honest and genuine personality.
  • Be willing to learn new skills.
  • Be outgoing and can work on their own or as part of a team.
