We are now looking for an hungry for learning, passionate and dedicated Sommelier to join our kitchen team at our flagship restaurant in London!

Who are we?

Meraki is one of London’s finest Greek restaurants, nested in the heart of Fitzrovia, it is a discreet sanctuary for those with a passion for Greek food, music and lively atmosphere.

Since its opening in July 2017, we have been focused on creating exquisite dining experiences and serving award-wining food to many London’s A-List and fashionable tastemakers.

We have created a menu that tastes of the soul of Greece with seasonally changing sharing mezze dishes, chargrilled meats and whole fish dishes carved at the table right in front of our guests’ eyes offering a memorable experience and the best of what Mediterranean cuisine has to offer.

Our wine list is a stunning snapshot of Greece’s best wines right now – some old, some new but also covers international variety from France, Italy, Spain, USA, …etc. We have 150+ wines listed including a large selection of fine and rare wines.

Meraki has led the way in innovative dining experiences and started expanding internationally with venues in London, Riyadh, Porto Cervo, Mykonos and many more to come!

About you:

As a Sommelier, you will be responsible for delivering the highest levels of service and an exceptional guest experience within the restaurant. You will recommend and sell wines to our guests both to complement their tastes and to pair with their menu choices. You will be the face of our restaurant and working with your colleagues on providing excellent services to our guests ensuring the smooth running of the restaurant. You will be an excellent and confident communicator with exceptional people skills and problem-solving abilities. The successful candidate will be passionate, enthusiastic, welcoming, and genuine. Informed by the authenticity of our brand and the passion we feel for our guests representing the warmth of the Greek islands and its hospitality.

You will be joining an equally passionate and talented team dedicated to curating original guest experiences in an authentic, attentive, and courteous manner. Meraki describes something done with soul, creativity and love, values that we are seeking in a new team member to take our guests on an immersive journey to the Greek islands through exceptional food, wines, and exceptional hospitality.


As a Sommelier you will be responsible for the daily service including:

·Providing exceptional guest experience, presenting the wine list, and make recommendations.

·Taking wine orders and providing an attentive and personalised level of service.

·Upselling wines through various sales techniques.

·Be fully knowledgeable of the wine list, drinks list and food menu

·Supporting our Senior Sommelier with the deliveries, cellar management and stock take.

·Constantly building up your wine knowledge through trainings and wine knowledge tests.


We are seeking for individuals who have worked in similar roles or can demonstrate a sound understanding of wines in a commercial environement. Other skills which will need to be demonstrated and qualifications include:

·Experience in a similar role and within a busy environment.

·A passion for the wine industry and hospitality.

·Excited to grow and learn about Greek wines & Greek cuisine.

·Excellent attention to details and strong organisational skills.

·Impeccable appearance of personal grooming.

·A natural ability to sell.

·Preferably certified with a WSET Level 2 Award in Wines or equivalent.
