Full job description
We are looking for a creative reliable chef to help support and lead our kitchen at Archive in Leeds. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking have a creative input into our food menu. Initially min 35 hrs p/week and post probation period a full time salaried role will be offered.
About Archive
Archive Coffee House & Event Space opened in 2019 and has become one of the most popular licensed independent coffee shops and places to brunch in the area. We are a leading destination for cultural and celebratory events in Leeds and regularly host our own events, we also cater for private and 3rd party events such as gigs, screenings, wedding receptions, birthday parties, corporate bookings, seminars, and much more.
Job Description
Working alongside the head chef and existing management team. You will have accountability for the successful delivery of kitchen operations at Archive, whether this is during our brunch and evening service and similarly at any of our private or curated events. It would be your responsibility to maintain our high standards for our menu as well as having the opportunity to input into our food offer.
We are currently open to the public daytime 7 days a week and one evening. We also regularly host private and third party evening events on other available days.
Your shift duties will include.
- Leading the kitchen team from the front, ensuring high standards not only from yourself but from your team members.
- Controlling and directing the food preparation process.
- Approving and polishing dishes before they reach the customer.
- Working closely with other Chefs of all levels.
- Determining food inventory needs, stocking and ordering.
- Being responsible for health and safety.
- Being responsible for food hygiene practices.
- Ensure all areas of responsibility are regularly cleaned, kept in good order and meet all requirements of Food Safety Act & Health & Safety Act, achieving excellence in Hygiene standards and full compliance with health and Safety regulations and fire safety policy.
- Ensure all temperature checks and HACCP documentation are carried out and recorded in due diligence records

Required.
- Cooking experience: 2 or more years
- Able to reliably commute/relocate to LS3 1HD
- Weekend and evening availability

Experience and Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years experience in a professional kitchen
- NVQ level 2 Professional Cookery (preferred although not required)
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: From £13.50 per hour
Expected hours: No less than 35 per week
