The Role
TrueGaming Network is hiring for a Staff Writer as the company looks to grow its PlayStation gaming website, TrueTrophies.
First launched in 2013 to offer trophy-hunting stats and tools to the PlayStation community, TrueTrophies has grown steadily in the last year with a full-time staff of three. We’re now looking to expand the team to accelerate our growth while continuing to enhance the site’s content with original, precise, and valuable articles.
As a Staff Writer your primary job will be content creation. You’ll create excellent, accurate and engaging copy to tight deadlines, with a focus on originality, for the biggest PlayStation games.
You must have a keen interest in console gaming and be able to convey that in concise and entertaining copy with a chance to stamp your personality on every piece. You’ll work with the TrueTrophies’ Editor to plan and deliver a content strategy that will grow and retain an audience, and enhance the site’s reputation as a go-to for PlayStation gamers.
Responsibilities include:
- Content creation: writing news stories, features, guides, and reviews
- Editorial: planning, including spotting and exploring content opportunities
- Output: 4-5 pieces of work a day, ranging from new articles, to updating existing ones, or working on future content
- Willingness to write with originality and personality
- Learning and working within established guidelines for style, tone, and SEO
- Sub-editing the work of others
- Conducting interviews
- Cultivating relationships with developers, publishers, PRs, etc.
- Attending events, trade shows, etc.
Required skills and experience:
- The ability to write brilliantly, quickly, and accurately
- A keen interest in PlayStation gaming
- Experience writing and pitching original articles
- Proficiency with basic working tools: Google Docs, sheets, task management, etc.
- Willingness to learn and help cultivate a positive creative environment
- Proactivity, attention to detail, and excellent organization
- Previous CMS experience
- Must be able to produce proof of right to work in the UK by the start of employment.

Pay: £24,000.00-£26,000.00 per year
