Job Summary
We are seeking a passionate and knowledgeable Travel Consultant to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in tourism and travel, enabling them to provide exceptional service to our clients. As a Travel Consultant, you will assist clients in planning their visits, offering expert advice on destinations, accommodations, and travel arrangements.

Responsibilities

  • Sell & book Mountain Goat products and meet the needs of our customers
  • Answer incoming customer communications from various channels in a professional and timely manner
  • Complete front desk tasks including completing bookings and manifests for drivers
  • Open and Close Windermere Tourist Information Centre
  • Serve customers face to face in tousit informations centre
  • Help with the day to day of the tourist infromation centre
  • Co-ordinate tour departures
  • Book overnight accommodation
  • Ensure attention to detail when making bookings
  • Put together multi-day itineraries for visits across the UK
  • Provide, chase and convert quotations to bookings
  • Liaise with agents and be the main point of contact for price lists, new products and any information they may need from us.
  • Manage coach bookings from enquiries, bookings to making attraction and lunch bookings on their behalf
  • Provide recommendations for unique and bespoke experiences.

Experience

  • An organised candidate, who can manage their workload and is a strong team player
  • Ability to use initiative & think on your feet
  • Flexibility to work variable shift patterns each week which include weekends & bank holidays
  • Excellent people skills, enabling strong relationships, both externally and internally
  • Strong communication skills with very good written and spoken English. Any other language skills will be welcomed as we have an international clientele.
  • Sound knowledge of Lake District Geography and Tourism Activity, knowledge of UK geography would also be a bonus. Ability to work to deadlines
