Job Summary
We are seeking a passionate and knowledgeable Travel Consultant to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in tourism and travel, enabling them to provide exceptional service to our clients. As a Travel Consultant, you will assist clients in planning their visits, offering expert advice on destinations, accommodations, and travel arrangements.
Responsibilities
- Sell & book Mountain Goat products and meet the needs of our customers
- Answer incoming customer communications from various channels in a professional and timely manner
- Complete front desk tasks including completing bookings and manifests for drivers
- Open and Close Windermere Tourist Information Centre
- Serve customers face to face in tousit informations centre
- Help with the day to day of the tourist infromation centre
- Co-ordinate tour departures
- Book overnight accommodation
- Ensure attention to detail when making bookings
- Put together multi-day itineraries for visits across the UK
- Provide, chase and convert quotations to bookings
- Liaise with agents and be the main point of contact for price lists, new products and any information they may need from us.
- Manage coach bookings from enquiries, bookings to making attraction and lunch bookings on their behalf
- Provide recommendations for unique and bespoke experiences.
Experience

- Have a passion for Lake District, Yorkshire & Northern England
- An organised candidate, who can manage their workload and is a strong team player
- Ability to use initiative & think on your feet
- Flexibility to work variable shift patterns each week which include weekends & bank holidays
- Excellent people skills, enabling strong relationships, both externally and internally
- Strong communication skills with very good written and spoken English. Any other language skills will be welcomed as we have an international clientele.
- Sound knowledge of Lake District Geography and Tourism Activity, knowledge of UK geography would also be a bonus. Ability to work to deadlines
