Role Description

Role title: Training & Development Coordinator

Reporting to: Head of Training & Development

Hours: 35 hours / 5 days per week

Location: This role will be predominantly office based, however flexibility will be applied where necessary

Wage: £26,000 pa

Purpose of Role

Chasing the Stigma is an award winning national mental health charity who aims to normalise and humanise conversations around mental health. Their ground-breaking mental health training programme Ambassador of Hope was developed in 2018 and has so far trained over 10,000 people.

Working with more than 50 organisations including the Premier League, NHS and Universities across the country.

In 2021 the Ambassador of Hope plus was developed in order to expand on the original training giving participants a chance to practice the skills and techniques learnt. How to start a conversation with someone in need of support and helping them gain the right expert help through our award winning mental health platform the Hub of Hope.

We offer bespoke consultancy services for organisations needing help to support their staff with their wellbeing and soon we will be launching the Ambassador of Hope Youth programme.

The training is written and delivered from a lived experience point of view and we are passionate about making sure that is portrayed in all of our training. We are looking for someone who can help support with the creative development of the training, keeping it fresh, relevant and engaging for the participants.

The postholder will be tasked with supporting the Head of Training and Development in overseeing the smooth running of the charity’s training and consultancy services on a regional and national scale, particularly leading on a range of operational functions such as dealing with enquiries, bookings, client communication, trainer scheduling, invoicing and monitoring and evaluation.

This is an exciting time for the charity with lots of new developments and opportunities ahead, we need someone who can share that passion for helping others and wanting to strive and work hard to help grow the charity in order to support as many people around the country as possible with their mental health.

Main Duties

✓ Support the Head of Training and Development with the design and implementation of a wide range of pioneering training and consultancy services at Chasing the Stigma, including the ongoing enhancement of existing programmes and the development of new services to cater for emerging customer needs.

✓ Stay abreast of market trends to ensure the charity’s service offer remains best-in-class in terms of content, quality and price, informing senior colleagues of market developments and emerging opportunities.

✓ Work with training and development colleagues, as well as the charity’s communications department, to design and deliver powerful marketing campaigns to promote our training and consultancy services to a wide range of multi-sector audiences.

✓ Support the Head of Training and Development to implement a robust approach to sales pipeline planning, lead generation, client relationship management and upselling/reselling, including the development of effective strategies to approach different target audiences and the embedding of internal tracking systems to monitor progress with both existing clients and emerging leads.

✓ Work with Chasing the Stigma’s Research and Insights team in preparing highly compelling content for pitches and proposals to be delivered to prospective high-value clients, or to support speaking opportunities at events and conferences.

✓ Be the first point of contact for all phone and email enquiries regarding the charity’s training and consultancy services, providing relevant information, coordinating bookings or signposting to colleagues where necessary.

✓ Coordinate all elements of after-sales care, including the assignment of a dedicated client account manager (if other than yourself), contract oversight, session bookings, trainer scheduling and liaison, risk assessment and policy adherence, data systems management and contract performance monitoring.

✓ Support the Head of Training and Development in the design and implementation of a range of departmental financial functions, including day-to-day financial monitoring processes, invoice tracking and remittance, budget setting and resource allocation.

✓ Liaise with Communications colleagues to provide regular content for Chasing the Stigma’s social media platforms, website and newsletter, highlighting the impact of the charity’s training and consultancy services and the progress made by our clients.

✓ Assist the Head of Training and Development in the recruitment and onboarding of new trainers and consultants across the UK, to include supporting with necessary HR, induction and training processes. In doing so, explore the viability of different staffing and sales models and help senior colleagues to implement the most effective approaches.

✓ Work with departmental colleagues to support the continued development of the charity’s trainer network ensuring our trainer workforce continues to maintain the highest standards of quality and performance, whilst reflecting the charity’s culture and values and enhancing our reputation across the UK. Key tasks may include the development and implementation of regular network gatherings, learning opportunities, performance monitoring mechanisms, knowledge exchange activities, reflective practice tools, internal communication processes and acknowledgement programmes.

✓ Lead on the administration and collation of all client feedback and testimonials, as well as the development and embedding of robust monitoring and evaluation mechanisms to aid the ongoing development of our services and the maintenance of industry leading standards of quality and excellence.

✓ Reflecting on client feedback, monitoring and evaluation data, staff performance measures, sales information and any other content provided by the charity’s Research and Insights colleagues, produce periodic reports for the attention of relevant internal and external stakeholders highlighting the impact of our training and consultancy work on a regional and national scale. Note, such content may also be necessary to support departmental grant applications or award submissions.

✓ Perform trainer or train the trainer duties when the need arises.

✓ Ensure that all client information, digital or hard-copy, is held securely in line with relevant data confidentiality and GDPR legislation.

✓ Oversee the maintenance, purchasing, organisation and distribution of departmental resources, including course materials, literature, merchandise and post training assets.

Person Specification

We are looking for a postholder that possesses the following attributes, skills and experience:

✓ A highly skilled co-ordinator with the ability to organise and coordinate multiple tasks and stakeholders.

✓ Deeply passionate about the charities ethos, getting people to talk openly about mental health and gain the right expert support.

✓ A confident communicator with the ability to present complex information in a way that is coherent and compelling to a range of different audiences.

✓ Excellent relationship management skills
✓ A flexible approach and ability to adapt to change
✓ A direct or indirect understanding or experience of mental ill-health
✓ Confident in dealing with invoices and finances
✓ Computer literate across a range of platforms and software solutions, including MS Office programmes and databases.
✓ Possess a can do attitude and an ability to work to tight deadlines.
✓ Courteous, approachable and amenable to both colleagues and third-party collaborators.

✓ A thirst for learning new skills, working practices and techniques to bring about continuous improvement in the charity’s AOH training.
✓ The highest standards of integrity and diligence in relation to data protection, confidentiality and accountability.
