Full job description

We are looking for a creative and passionate well-rounded videographer & editor to join our team and get stuck into some exciting projects. You will be responsible for capturing compelling footage and crafting visually engaging content for a wide range of clients as well as delivering content in a variety of formats for different social platforms. It would be advantageous if you’ve previously developed and executed video marketing strategies.

You’ll attend client meetings online to discuss upcoming projects and create a brief. Come bursting with ideas and don’t be scared to pitch them! You may be required to write call sheets and help organise the shoot. If you can storyboard that would be a bonus but not essential.

During video shoots, you’ll help carry, set up and break down the equipment with confidence. You understand lighting and audio setups. You thrive in this environment and are comfortable taking the lead on a shoot and adapting quickly to any changes to a shoot day. During shoots, you’ll capture behind the scenes content for use on our social media. If you’re comfortable being on camera, we would welcome you to present on-camera and take ownership of the vlogs for posting on our social channels, but it’s not a requirement of the role.

Back in the edit, you’ll be handling raw project assets and transforming them into professional pieces of video content. Your meticulous attention to detail plays a pivotal role in ensuring client satisfaction. By aligning to a client’s brand guidelines, you can quickly and efficiently craft videos to an exceptional standard. You’ll also be responsible for creating content for our own social platforms and website.

Given the client-facing nature of this role, it’s important you have strong written and verbal communication and experience dealing with constructive feedback. Organisational skills are also crucial when planning a shoot as well as organising asset locations and keeping project files tidy. You’ll also be working across multiple projects simultaneously so it’s important to manage your time effectively to meet client deadlines.

The nature of our dynamic work environment occasionally necessitates flexibility in working hours to meet client deadlines. Candidates should be prepared for instances where working late or longer hours may be required to ensure timely and successful project delivery. This also extends to travel arrangements where it may be expected to travel on either side of the filming day due to long distances, including projects abroad.

Although this is predominantly a work from home role, candidates are required to attend a shared co-working space in Birmingham at least twice a month. Applicants should ensure they reside within reasonable commuting distance to meet this requirement.


  • Attend online client meetings to take briefs or provide updates.
  • Contribute creative ideas during brainstorming sessions.
  • Organise video projects end-to-end complete with documentation.
  • Develop and execute video marketing strategies.
  • Maintain video equipment, ensuring optimal performance and solving technical issues.
  • Capture high-quality, visually appealing video content for client projects.
  • Capture behind the scenes content for social channels.
  • Edit raw footage into a polished, attention-grabbing video, incorporating music, graphics and captions.
  • Ensure all videos meet quality standards, brand guidelines and are delivered on time.
  • Ensure project files are organised and project folders are backed up on our Cloud storage.
  • Promote video content on social media channels.
  • Internet: Having a strong, reliable and fast internet connection is crucial for client meetings and transfer of files to our Cloud storage, as well as client review tools.
  • Easily commute to Birmingham at least twice per month.


  • 3+ years experience in videography and video editing.
  • Proficient in the use of Sony cameras.
  • Advanced knowledge of Adobe Premiere Pro.
  • Intermediate knowledge of Adobe After Effects, Photoshop, Illustrator and Audition.
  • Social media guru: In-depth knowledge of social media trends, best practices and video requirements (e.g orientation, formats, durations etc).
  • Time management: Efficiently project manage client work to meet deadlines and ensure no compromise in quality.
  • Communication: Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively across the team and with clients.
  • Organisation: Strong time-keeping skills, manage calendar entries and update project trackers, including managing freelancers where necessary.
  • Portfolio: A strong portfolio of work showcasing projects you’ve shot and edited.
  • Adaptability: Ability to adapt to changing project requirements, tight deadlines and fast-paced work environment.
  • Problem-solving: Being able to resolve technical issues during both shooting and editing phases.
  • Driving: An essential part of the production is being able to travel to and from filming locations.


  • Confident in use of camera gimbals and GoPro cameras.
  • Video analytics: Monitor social media analytics to optimise video content strategies.
  • After Effects: VFX compositing to seamlessly integrate visual effects elements into a scene.
  • Design: Creating YouTube thumbnails, social media and website artwork.
