Who are The Greenhouse People?
Tucked away on a business park just off the A50 exiting Stoke-on-Trent, we are a dynamic and innovative global market leader in the manufacture and retail of garden and leisure buildings. Products range from entry level greenhouses through to luxury greenhouses, summerhouses, and garden offices, which we sell through our network of display sites and online at www.greenhousepeople.co.uk
We are a family owned and run business and this is reflected in our culture and values - our people (circa 170) are of the utmost importance to us. We pride ourselves on the quality of our products and on our customer service, which is considered integral to our growth.
The Role
This is a brand new role and as our Website Inventory Manager (Front End) you will be responsible for the day-to-day operation and ongoing improvement of our Shopify storefronts.
The role ensures the business and product catalogue are presented to the highest standard. This includes maintaining and evolving our Shopify websites, enforcing design and brand guidelines, and managing the imagery and video used across the platform to present our products in a clear, compelling, and commercially effective way.
Working closely with the Design, Product, & Software Development teams, this is a hands-on role responsible for platform quality, content accuracy, and ongoing improvement across the primary storefront and sister sites.
What you will need:
- Proven experience managing Shopify stores beyond basic product and content updates
- Demonstrated proficiency with Shopify’s core building blocks (products, variants, collections, metafields, themes, apps)
- Strong familiarity with the Adobe Creative Cloud, in particular Photoshop/Premier Pro/After Effects or similar
- Solid understanding of ecommerce best practices, and conversion optimisation
- Experience using Shopify apps or integrations to enhance platform functionality
- Experience quality-checking site changes and safeguarding platform quality
- Ability to identify friction in the customer journey and prioritise improvement
- Comfortable translating business, marketing, or SEO requirements into clear, actionable changes
- Ability to challenge requests constructively, explain trade-offs, and work collaboratively across teams
- Clear written and verbal communication in the English language
- Experience with Shopify analytics/GA4 or similar and A/B testing would be helpful, but not initially essential
What We Offer:
- A starting salary of £32000 -£37000 depending on experience and qualifications
- A non-contractual performance bonus
- A friendly, energetic, and supportive work environment.
- Opportunities to develop your skills
- A high level of autonomy and trust in your role.
- The opportunity to make a genuine impact on a well-established and growing business.
As a company which is committed to ensuring equality of opportunity, we welcome application from all sectors of the community.
