Workshop Controller & Maintenance Planner - Woodgate Aviation
Due to continued growth and expansion, Woodgate Aviation is seeking an experienced and highly organised Workshop Controller & Maintenance Planner to oversee and coordinate the day-to-day operations of our aircraft maintenance facility supporting business and general aviation aircraft.
This is an excellent opportunity for an aviation professional with strong maintenance planning experience, leadership capability, and a detailed understanding of aircraft maintenance operations to join a professional and growing aviation organisation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan, schedule, and coordinate all aircraft maintenance activities to maximise workshop efficiency and minimise aircraft downtime
- Allocate and distribute maintenance tasks across engineers and technicians based on workload, aircraft status, and operational priorities
- Monitor maintenance progress and ensure all planned deadlines, maintenance slots, and operational commitments are achieved
- Maintain accurate maintenance planning records, work packs, and tracking systems
- Coordinate aircraft inputs, maintenance inspections, defect rectification, and scheduled servicing activities
- Assist with parts planning and resource coordination to ensure availability of tooling, materials, and components
- Ensure workshop housekeeping, safety standards, and operational procedures are consistently maintained
- Work closely with management to improve workflow efficiency, planning processes, and customer service standards
Requirements:
- Previous experience within aircraft maintenance planning, workshop control, or aviation maintenance supervision
- Strong understanding of business and general aviation maintenance operations
- Knowledge of aviation regulatory requirements and maintenance documentation procedures
- Excellent organisational and communication skills with the ability to manage multiple aircraft projects simultaneously
- Strong leadership skills with a professional and approachable manner
- Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet operational deadlines
- Computer literacy and experience using maintenance planning software systems
- Experience coordinating maintenance schedules and engineer workloads
- Full UK driving licence
- Part-145 maintenance environment experience advantageous
- Previous supervisory or team leadership experience preferred
