Cabinet Maker / Joiner

Griffiths & Hood Ltd is a family-run office furniture manufacturer established in 1964. Based in Leigh-on-Sea, we produce bespoke office furniture, panels, and joinery using veneer, laminate, melamine, MDF, plywood, solid timber, and more.

We are looking for an experienced Cabinet Maker / Joiner to join our expanding team. This is a fantastic opportunity to become part of a friendly, well-established company where your skills and input will make a real difference.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manufacture bespoke furniture, cabinets, and joinery items from drawings
  • Work with a wide range of materials including veneer, laminate, MDF, MFC, and solid timber
  • Assemble units accurately, ensuring clean joints, correct tolerances, and high-quality workmanship
  • Operate hand tools safely and effectively
  • Read and understand technical drawings to ensure accuracy
  • Liaise with colleagues to ensure smooth workflow and meet production deadlines
  • Contribute to a clean, safe, and organised working environment

Requirements:

  • Previous experience in cabinet making or joinery
  • Strong understanding of woodworking techniques, tools, and materials
  • Ability to read and work from technical drawings
  • High attention to detail and pride in producing quality work
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
