Role: Principal Technician - Land Development

Job Type: Permanent Full Time

Salary: Competitive DOE

Location: Fareham

Hours: Full Time 37.5 hours Mon-Fri 7.5-hour days (Core working hours are 10-4) Flexitime within this providing core hours are met.

We are thrilled to be recruiting for a Principal Technician - Land Development to join our client in Fareham. Our client is a Fast growing, award winning structural engineering and transport planning consultancy.

As Principal Technician - Land Development you will be working within a Civil & Structural Engineering team responsible for the design of drainage systems and infrastructure layouts amongst many other responsibilities.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Be proficient in AutoCAD and Site 3D.
  • The design of drainage systems, infrastructure layouts, and S278/S38 schemes.
  • Mentor and training of junior staff members.
  • Support engineers with completion of project work across.
  • Work in a design office, with regular exposure to developers, architects, and local authorities.
  • Improve team processes through knowledge sharing activities.
  • Provide design input and feedback to engineers, where appropriate to do so.
  • Providing training to the Engineering teams and wider business in areas of responsibility.
  • Be responsible and accountable for CAD and drafting related processes, identifying improvements to existing processes and creating new ones.
  • Overseeing quality standards and processes.

About You: / Experience required:

  • 6 + years in a technical role using AutoCAD and Site 3D is essential
  • Large multiscale development experience
  • Residential and highways experience
  • Experience with highways and drainage design
  • 3D design ideally software such as Site 3D, PDS or Civils 3D
  • Experience of working on projects from inception to completion
