Full job description

As our Chef de Partie you will be involved within all aspects of pastry, bread and dough production. The ideal candidate is both creative and detail-oriented, with a passion and deep understanding of artisan baking techniques.

Working at Milk Run is an exciting and collaborative process. There is a Senior Management team, who work across the bakery, but also our sister site down the road at Milk. We have a strong understanding of what our brand at Milk Run stands for, and knowing that you have a team both inside and out of the kitchen, that are there to support, guide and collaborate with you is a work ethic we’re proud of.

If you have specific experience and expertise in one area of the bakery production, and lack experience in the other, please do not let that deter you from applying for the role. We are keen to hear from a range of speciality bakers with training provided for the right applicant.

Contract is for 48 hours, 5 days a week - with start times of 5:30am.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare, and bake a variety of pastries, bread and specialty baked goods
  • Follow recipes to ensure exceptional flavour, texture, and presentation remains consistent
  • Work autonomously to complete daily baking schedules to meet production targets and deadlines
  • Monitor quality control, ensuring all products meet company specifications
  • Maintain proper inventory levels of ingredients and supplies, minimising waste
  • Ensure compliance with food safety, hygiene, and sanitation standards
  • Collaborate with management on seasonal menus, specials, and product innovation
  • Operate and maintain bakery equipment safely and efficiently

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 1 years of professional baking experience, including artisan pastries/bread
  • Strong knowledge of dough fermentation, shaping, and baking techniques
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, high-volume environment
  • Excellent organisational and time-management skills
  • Creativity and passion for baking innovation
  • Strong communication and leadership skills
  • Flexibility to work early mornings, weekends, and holidays as needed
