In everything we do, we work hard to protect the purity nature brings; from taking care of the environment that our waters are sourced from, to accelerating our pathway to net zero carbon and managing our business sustainably into the future.

A day in the life of a Water Resource Engineer

The Water Resource Engineer is responsible for managing the implementation and execution of water resources to ensure optimal water ratios and the delivery of products from water sources to production lines. This role includes ensuring water quality throughout the process and supporting the overall reliability and maintenance of water systems to optimise production efficiency.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Water Resource Management:
Own and manage the implementation of water resources, ensuring water quality from sources through to production lines, with the water resources operator as a direct report.
  • Compliance and Standards: Act as the duty holder at water treatment and water sources, ensuring compliance with applicable standards and reporting to the senior duty holder.
  • Maintenance and Reliability: Ensure reliability and maintenance of water systems to optimise production, actively participating in maintenance routines and supporting the implementation of maintenance methodologies.
  • Budget Management: Provide input for the annual maintenance budget, assist in reporting and tracking expenditures, and analyse financial performance to propose corrective actions.
  • Collaboration and Support: Build strong relationships with external partners, including managing water sharing agreements, and provide round-the-clock support to engineering, production, and quality teams.
  • Continuous Improvement: Expand the existing data network to enhance water resource management and support the implementation of continuous improvement methodologies within engineering
  • Quality Assurance: Support production in eliminating quality defects and safety risks, ensuring adherence to applicable standards in the area of responsibility.

What will make you successful

  • Professional Qualification:
Multi skilled engineering background - HNC or equivalent.
  • Professional Experience: At least three years of experience in engineering management, preferably within a fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) manufacturing environment, with a focus on maintenance, industrial services, and engineering and automation.
  • Team Collaboration: Proven ability to work effectively in multifunctional teams, demonstrating strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build relationships across departments.
  • Technical Knowledge: Good knowledge of electrical systems, instruments, and control systems, along with expertise in asset maintenance.
  • Commitment to Safety: A commitment to ensuring an attitude of absolute intolerance for unsafe situations concerning product quality, people, and environmental safety.
  • Continuous Improvement: Familiarity with continuous improvement methodologies, with a preference for knowledge of Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) practices.
