Snug Hospitality is an ambitious hospitality operator creating comfortable, warm, and cosy pubs around Norfolk. Established in 2020, we acquired our first venue in May 2021 and now operate 6 venues with a 7th planned for late Autumn 2023. Behind Snug Hospitality is a team of committed individuals full of bold ideas and enthusiasm, passionate about our industry & loyal to each other and our customers.

THE ROLE

We're looking for a junior chef at our flagship food site The Chequers Hainford where the task will be to bring new and fresh ideas to help the venue regain its following and stand out from the crowd. We're looking for someone who is fun, enthusiastic and not afraid of hard work. You'll be responsible for producing quality fresh, local & seasonal food whilst delivering consistently high standards. Working with our group executive chef you will be equally passionate about making customers happy and using fresh, seasonal produce to create great flavours.

As part of the management team you will work with the pub manager to achieve the sales and service targets and grow the business in both the peak and off peak season.

  • Take responsibility for a service or section, ensuring that every dish is big & bold in flavour and consistent in presentation
  • Plan and prep your section so that every section is ready for the days ahead
  • Work with the wider chef team to create menu items that reflect the ethos and menu direction of The Chequers.
  • Maintain high levels of food hygiene & safety across the business,

THE VENUE

A traditional pub & dining room set in a tranquil Norfolk village, surrounded by countryside. We have an intimate function room plus planning permission approved for a new 40 seat dining room extension and improvements to the kitchen. Positioned as a premium venue serving up only beer brewed within 50 miles we focus on the overall experience.

  • Large beer garden with covered area
  • Food led site with a focus on events and occasions

THE PERSON

  • At least 2 years in a senior chef role
  • Passionate about food, and a flare for creating new dishes regularly
  • An understanding of the local area, its suppliers & produce
  • Experience of working directly with owners n a small but growing business (preferred)

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time, Permanent

Pay: £12.50-£13.50 per hour
