Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Sous Chef who know how to wok ideally to join our dynamic culinary team. The successful candidate will support the Head Chef in overseeing kitchen operations, ensuring the delivery of high-quality food, and maintaining exceptional standards of safety and hygiene. This role offers an exciting opportunity for a motivated professional with a passion for culinary excellence and team leadership within a bustling hospitality environment.

Duties

  • Assist in the preparation and presentation of a wide range of dishes, ensuring consistency and quality.
  • Supervise kitchen staff, providing guidance and support to ensure efficient workflow.
  • Manage food production processes, including portion control and waste minimisation.
  • Oversee food safety procedures, maintaining compliance with health regulations.
  • Coordinate with front-of-house staff to ensure seamless service delivery.
  • Support the training and development of junior kitchen team members.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen area at all times.
  • Contribute to menu planning and innovation alongside the Head Chef.
  • Monitor stock levels, assist with ordering supplies, and manage inventory control.

Experience

  • Proven supervising experience within a professional kitchen environment.
  • Extensive food production and preparation skills, with a strong background in cooking.
  • Demonstrable kitchen experience in a hospitality or restaurant setting.
  • Strong leadership qualities with the ability to manage and motivate a team effectively.
  • Knowledge of food safety standards and best practices in hygiene management.
  • Experience in restaurant operations, including serving customers when required.
  • Familiarity with culinary techniques, food presentation, and menu development.
  • Previous experience in hospitality roles that emphasise teamwork and customer service excellence.
