Job Description: Chef de Partie – Yeatei

About Us

  • Be part of a new restaurant concept.
  • Showcase your skills and take ownership of a kitchen section.
  • Contribute ideas to menu development and operations.

Join Yeatei, an exciting new Pan-Asian restaurant concept blending the glamour of 1920s Shanghai with modern flair. With bold flavours, live music, and a sophisticated atmosphere, we’re set to bring something unique to the dining scene. This is your chance to be part of a start-up team with big ambitions and over 20 years of combined experience in the industry.

The Role

As a Chef de Partie at Yeatei, you’ll run your own section of the kitchen, ensuring dishes are prepared to the highest standard and service runs smoothly. You’ll work closely with the Sous Chef and Head Chef to deliver consistent quality, contribute ideas for new dishes, and help shape the menu. This is a hands-on role in a creative, fast-paced kitchen where high standards, efficiency, and teamwork are key.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and run your assigned section (grill, wok, pastry, etc.) with consistency and efficiency.
  • Prepare and cook dishes to recipe specifications, maintaining excellent quality and presentation.
  • Support menu development by contributing ideas and feedback.
  • Train, guide, and support junior team members in your section.
  • Maintain kitchen cleanliness, organisation, and food safety standards.
  • Manage mise en place for your section, ensuring readiness for service.
  • Work collaboratively with the wider team to deliver smooth service and resolve issues quickly.
  • Help control stock levels, minimise waste, and ensure ingredients are stored correctly.

About You

  • Proven experience as a Chef de Partie or strong experience as a Demi Chef ready to step up.
  • Solid cooking skills with an interest in Asian cuisines and flavours.
  • Ability to manage a section independently while supporting the wider kitchen team.
  • Organised, reliable, and able to stay calm under pressure.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Passionate about delivering consistent, high-quality food and open to learning new techniques.

Why Join Us?

  • Be part of a dynamic start-up and help shape a new Pan-Asian dining concept.
  • Opportunity to showcase creativity and input into menu development.
  • Career growth as the business expands, with clear progression opportunities.
  • Work in a collaborative, creative environment where passion is valued.

Start Date

The role will begin during our pre-opening phase, with full hours once the restaurant officially opens in early October. Training and support will be provided to ensure you’re confident and ready for launch.
