Overview

We are seeking experienced and reliable Painters to join our team in and Downpatrick. The ideal candidates will be responsible for delivering high-quality painting services across various construction and renovation projects. This role offers an excellent opportunity to work within a dynamic environment, contributing to the visual transformation of residential, commercial, and industrial properties. Applicants should possess strong communication skills, a good understanding of construction painting techniques, and the ability to work independently or as part of a team. A valid driving licence is preferred to facilitate travel between sites.

Duties

  • Prepare surfaces by cleaning, sanding, and applying primers to ensure optimal paint adhesion
  • Apply paints, varnishes, and other finishes using brushes, rollers, or spray equipment with precision and attention to detail
  • Ensure colour matching and consistency across different surfaces as per project specifications
  • Protect surrounding areas by covering floors, furniture, and fixtures during painting activities
  • Follow health and safety guidelines at all times to maintain a safe working environment
  • Communicate effectively with clients and team members regarding project progress and any issues encountered
  • Maintain tools and equipment in good working condition for efficient operation
  • Complete projects within designated timeframes while maintaining high standards of quality

Skills

  • Proven experience in construction painting or related trades is highly desirable
  • Strong understanding of different types of paints, finishes, and application techniques
  • Excellent communication skills in English to liaise effectively with clients and colleagues
  • Ability to operate relevant tools and equipment safely and efficiently
  • Valid driving licence is advantageous for travelling between multiple sites
  • Organised with good attention to detail to ensure quality workmanship
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision or collaboratively within a team setting
  • Physically fit with the stamina required for manual labour over extended periods
