Base Location: Perth or Glasgow

Salary: £27,500 - £41,300 +performance-related bonus + a range of benefits to support your finances, wellbeing and family.

Working Pattern: Permanent Full Time with Flexible First options available

The role

Join us within the R2R Centre of Excellence team on our journey to shape the future of finance as we focus on continuous improvement, technical expertise and innovation where we will have the opportunity to deploy modern technology in a way that we have not been able to do before. This role is for an Analyst within our Renewables team; Your responsibilities will include supporting Accountants in the successful delivery of month end general ledger close, undertake account reconciliations and support in the statutory audit and financial reporting. As part of the Centre of Excellence you will work collaboratively alongside other finance team members to drive best practices in reporting and processes across SSE Finance.

You will assist with a broad range of Financial Control activities – including, but not limited to;

  • Month end journal postings, explaining and analysing variances.
  • Bank and balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Involvement in the half year and year end audit, including subsidiary companies and liaising with the external auditors.
  • Preparation of VAT returns and other regulated reports.
  • Completion of monthly controls within your remit.

You have

  • Relevant accounting experience, gained from working in a similar role with the ability to analyse and interpret data.
  • A knowledge of key balance sheet account reconciliations with an attention to detail.
  • Strong IT skills using Microsoft office applications.
  • Strong financial systems experience (Oracle desirable).
