About the role...

The moment a guest steps into one of our hotels, they walk into a genuinely memorable experience. You’ll deliver this through welcoming guests and customers to the hotel, checking them in and making any reservation changes as required, whilst creating a unique and special visit for our guests. You’ll also create the warm atmosphere that make our guests feel at home in any location, as well as ensuring they have an enjoyable and successful stay.

You'll work closely with the Night Manager to develop, support and coach your team in keeping our guests safe overnight, and providing an excellent standard of service.

Amongst other things, you’ll do this by assisting to manage the Night Team’s staffing needs, plan and assign work and establish performance and development goals for team members. Provide mentoring, coaching and regular feedback to improve team member performance. You’ll be aware of and support to create departmental goals, ensuring communication of these across the team so they are all working towards achieving or exceeding targets such as Guest Satisfaction Scores.

You will also undertake night security and H&S checks around the hotel, basic cleaning and laundry duties and ensure a full handover to the morning Duty Manager. You will need to be confident with handling cash/credit transactions and cash reconciliation. We believe our people are the key to excellent service delivery and our success depends on them.

About you...

  • Previous experience ideally within a hotel environment with an outgoing personality, excellent communication skills and excellent command of the English language. Ideally you will have knowledge of PEP PMS, but we will teach you what you need to know
  • Excellent leadership skills with experience of leading a team
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer relation skills to ensure a seamless and memorable experience, proactively resolving any challenges that may arise
  • Strong communication skills through a variety of means
  • Flexible and adaptable, with the ability to stay calm under pressure, adapting your approach to complete routine and non-routine tasks
  • High attention to detail and accuracy – great at managing one’s own time and the time of the team
