Teaching Assistant

Salary: NJC 11-14 ~£24,718 - £25,946 (Actual) £28,142 - £29,540 (FTE) + well-being cash plan + pension scheme (LGPS) + additional Lift Schools benefits
Hours: 37 per week , 40 weeks per year (Term time + inset days)
Contract: Permanent

Lift Kingswood's Teaching Assistants are vital members of the team. You’ll work side by side with teachers to help every student access learning, develop independence and grow in confidence. Your work will make a genuine difference supporting young people to achieve their potential and flourish in all aspects of school life.

You’ll get to know your students’ individual needs, helping them master lesson content and develop skills to learn independently. You’ll deliver small-group or one-to-one support, promote positive behaviours and help create a safe, stimulating learning environment. You’ll work with teachers, SENDCO, pastoral staff and families to ensure every student receives the support they need to succeed.

We’re looking for someone who:

  • Puts students first and is passionate about helping them succeed
  • Builds positive, respectful relationships with young people
  • Works effectively as part of a team with teachers, SENDCO, pastoral staff and families
  • Communicates clearly and sensitively with students and adults
  • Understands or is willing to learn about supporting students with SEND and diverse learning needs
  • Adapts support to help students access the curriculum and develop independence
  • Maintains high expectations of behaviour and promotes positive choices
  • Plans and delivers small-group or one-to-one interventions within clear guidelines
  • Is organised, reliable and professional in all aspects of work
  • Is reflective, open to feedback and committed to ongoing learning and development

You’re someone who has:

  • Have experience of working with young people
  • Level 2 functional skills Maths and English or GCSE grade C/ 4 and above
  • Passion and enthusiasm for working with young people
  • Trained in/ or willing to complete Teaching Assistant training (level 3)
