Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Part-time Kitchen Assistant to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will play a vital role in supporting the kitchen staff with meal preparation and food safety practices. This position is perfect for individuals looking to gain experience in a fast-paced kitchen environment, whether in a restaurant, catering service, or other culinary settings.

Duties

  • Assist in the preparation of ingredients for cooking and meal assembly.
  • Support chefs and cooks by performing basic cooking tasks and food preparation.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen area, including washing dishes and utensils.
  • Ensure all food safety standards are adhered to, including proper storage and handling of food items.
  • Help with inventory management by restocking supplies as needed.
  • Participate in the cleaning of kitchen equipment and work surfaces after use.
  • Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient kitchen operations.

Qualifications

  • Previous experience in a kitchen environment is preferred but not essential; a willingness to learn is key.
  • Basic knowledge of food safety practices and culinary techniques is advantageous.
