Full job description
We are an independent award-winning pub, restaurant & rooms looking for people to join our team and help us build on the success we have had since opening! Here at The Silver Cup we are an ambitious bunch who are hardworking and passionate about what we do, consistently striving towards perfection.
We are looking for a passionate, driven Kitchen Porter/Housekeeping who is looking to grow within our back of house team.
We don’t believe that good food should just be for the rich and famous. Our aim is to create a special experience for customers that pulls on the traditions of a classic British Public House whilst putting a contemporary twist on quality seasonal food and drink. We are working towards accolades and building our reputation throughout the county.
Built in 1838, The Silver Cup is well and truly woven into the heritage of Harpenden. Over 150 years on, it retains its charm & character whilst adopting an environment that embodies the life and soul of the community and the people within it.
We are looking for a reliable and hardworking Kitchen Porter to join our team on a part-time basis. While your main role will be to support our kitchen staff by maintaining cleanliness and ensuring smooth back-of-house operations, you may also be called upon to assist with light housekeeping duties as needed.
Key Responsibilities:
Kitchen Duties:
- Washing dishes, pots, pans, and kitchen utensils
- Keeping food preparation and service areas clean and tidy
- Assisting with receiving and storing deliveries
- Emptying bins and maintaining cleanliness in waste disposal areas
- Supporting chefs and kitchen staff when required
Occasional Housekeeping Duties:
- Cleaning the pub, restaurant & rooms
- Making beds and changing linens
- Ensuring bathrooms are clean and stocked with essentials
- Performing light dusting, sweeping, mopping, and vacuuming
Requirements:
- Previous experience in a kitchen or housekeeping role
- Strong work ethic and attention to detail
- Ability to follow health and safety guidelines
- Flexibility to switch between kitchen and housekeeping duties as needed
- Good communication and teamwork skills
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: £13.00-£15.50 per hour
Work Location: In person
