Full job description

Chinese Snack Takeaway – Chinatown, London

We are a Chinese snack takeaway located in London Chinatown, specialising in steamed buns, boiled meatballs, and bento-style meals. We are currently hiring one Kitchen Assistant to support our kitchen and front-of-house operations.

Work Location

18–21 Lisle Street, London, WC2H 7BA

Job Responsibilities

  • Assist with ingredient preparation and basic food processing
  • Support packing and serving of Chinese snacks and bento meals
  • Maintain daily kitchen cleaning, sanitisation, and waste disposal
  • Assist with stock organisation and basic inventory tasks
  • Provide basic front-of-house support during busy periods, including assisting with customer orders, handing over packed food, and coordinating with the kitchen team
  • Follow food hygiene, safety, and store operating procedures

Contract Type

Temporary / Casual Contract

Pay

  • £12.21 per hour
  • Paid according to hours worked
  • Compliant with UK National Minimum Wage regulations

Working Hours

  • Minimum 2–3 days per week
  • Flexible shifts, to be agreed

Requirements

  • Previous kitchen or catering experience preferred (training can be provided)
  • Basic communication skills in both English and Chinese
  • Reliable, cooperative, and able to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Legal right to work in the UK
