Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and passionate individual to join our team in a culinary role. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing and cooking a variety of dishes, ensuring high standards of food safety and quality. Duties
- Prepare ingredients and cook meals according to specified recipes and standards and support with creating new menus
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen area in compliance with food safety regulations, completing all relevant paperwork
- Preparation of meals for nursery rooms, ensuring timely delivery of dishes
- Follow all health and safety procedures to uphold hygiene standards
- Assist in stock rotation, inventory management, and ordering supplies as needed
- Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth kitchen operations and excellent customer service
- Manage children's dietary needs, ensuring we are meeting all allergen requirements, that all food is labelled correctly and signed off from kitchen to room staff.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in food preparation, cooking, or a related role within a restaurant or catering environment is preferred
- Previous experience in a nursery environment is preferred, along with previous knowledge of managing multiple allergens
- Knowledge of food safety standards and hygiene practices
- Experience in meal preparation and culinary techniques
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to work efficiently under pressure
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work well within a team
- Prior serving or restaurant experience is advantageous but not essential
- A genuine passion for food, cooking, and delivering exceptional dining experiences
