Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced and passionate Head Chef to lead our culinary team. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of food preparation, ensuring high standards of quality, safety, and presentation. This role requires strong leadership skills, extensive culinary expertise, and a commitment to delivering exceptional dining experiences. The Head Chef will play a pivotal role in menu development, staff supervision, and maintaining the overall efficiency of the kitchen operations.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and supervise the kitchen team to ensure smooth daily operations and high-quality food production.
  • Develop innovative menus that align with current trends and customer preferences while maintaining cost efficiency.
  • Oversee food preparation, cooking, and presentation to ensure consistency and excellence.
  • Manage inventory, order supplies, and control stock levels to minimise waste and maximise profitability.
  • Ensure strict adherence to food safety standards and hygiene regulations at all times.
  • Train, mentor, and evaluate kitchen staff to foster a motivated and skilled team environment.
  • Coordinate with front-of-house staff to ensure seamless service delivery.
  • Monitor kitchen equipment maintenance and cleanliness to uphold health and safety standards.
  • Implement quality control procedures to maintain the organisation’s reputation for outstanding cuisine.

Qualifications

  • Proven supervising experience in a professional culinary setting, ideally within a restaurant or hospitality environment.
  • Extensive culinary experience with a strong background in food production, food preparation, and cooking techniques.
  • Demonstrable leadership skills with the ability to manage a diverse team effectively.
  • Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices in hygiene management.
  • Experience in menu development, food costing, and inventory control.
  • Excellent organisational skills with the ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong communication skills to liaise effectively with staff and management.
  • Previous restaurant experience is highly desirable, along with serving experience in hospitality settings.
