Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Kitchen Porter to join our busy culinary team. This role is essential in maintaining a clean, organised, and efficient kitchen environment, supporting chefs and kitchen staff to deliver exceptional dining experiences. The position offers an opportunity to gain valuable experience within the hospitality sector, particularly in food preparation and kitchen operations.

Responsibilities

  • Washing and sanitising dishes, utensils, pots, pans, and kitchen equipment to ensure cleanliness and hygiene standards are met.
  • Assisting with basic food preparation tasks under supervision, including peeling, chopping, and organising ingredients.
  • Supporting the cleaning of kitchen surfaces, floors, and storage areas to maintain a safe and tidy workspace.
  • Assisting with waste disposal and recycling procedures in accordance with health and safety regulations.
  • Restocking supplies and ensuring all necessary items are readily available for chefs and kitchen staff.
  • Supporting the movement of ingredients and equipment around the kitchen as needed during service hours.

Skills

  • Previous experience in a restaurant, hotel, or hospitality environment is advantageous but not essential; a keen willingness to learn is important.
  • Basic knowledge of food preparation and cooking techniques is desirable.
