Full job description

About us:

Seymour House is a family run day nursery group with 35 years of experience in making a real difference to families, our team, the environment, and the community.

The Role:

Join our brilliant team in one of our Outstanding Ofsted rated nurseries and make a real difference to the lives of young children and their families.

The main food handler is responsible for preparing and serving meals and snacks to the children throughout the day. Our amazing food partner, Nursery Kitchen, delivers all our tasty and nutritious main meals chilled, which means they simply need to be popped into the oven for cooking before being served to the children.

The role also includes general kitchen duties such as washing and clearing up after snacks and the lunchtime session, together with the daily/weekly cleaning duties of the communal and kitchen areas.

Benefits:

  • Competitive salaries
  • This role qualifies for our Chelmsford enhancement, which adds an additional 5% to your basic salary.
  • Free life coaching in our Dream Academy
  • Discounted gym membership
  • Social events throughout the year
  • Financial wellbeing service
  • Cycle2Work scheme
  • Childcare discount
  • 228 days holiday plus an 3 additional days for Christmas closure increasing to 33 days with length of service
  • Recommend a friend bonus

Requirements:

· You will be required to undertake an enhanced DBS check, funded by Seymour House, to share in our commitment to safeguarding children. An enhanced check is completed and regularly updated through the Disclosure and Barring Service.

· This post is classed as having a high degree of contact with children and is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974.

No formal qualifications are required, just the desire to provide the very best nutrition and care to young children.

Seymour House actively promotes equal opportunities and are committed to equality and diversity for all our children and staff. Applicants will be considered on merit only, irrespective of race, sex, sexual orientation, disability, age, religion, or belief.

Candidates should be aware that we may conduct an online search as part of our due diligence on shortlisted candidates to identify any publicly available information relating to incidents or issues that could be relevant to the recruitment process.
