Job Summary
We are seeking a passionate and skilled Chef to join our team and assist our Head Chef in a lovely country pub. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in food production and a commitment to maintaining high standards of food safety and quality. As a Chef, you will play a vital role in creating exceptional dining experiences while leading and supervising kitchen staff. Your leadership will help foster a collaborative environment that prioritises hospitality and excellence.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the daily operations of the kitchen, ensuring smooth workflow and adherence to food safety regulations.
  • Prepare and cook high-quality dishes in accordance with the restaurant's menu and standards.
  • Supervise kitchen staff, providing guidance and support to ensure efficient food production.
  • Collaborate with management to develop new menu items and seasonal offerings that reflect current culinary trends.
  • Maintain inventory levels, ordering supplies as needed while minimising waste.
  • Ensure cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen, adhering to health and safety standards at all times.
  • Train new kitchen staff on cooking techniques, food safety practices, and operational procedures.
  • Foster a positive team environment that encourages collaboration, creativity, and professional growth.

Experience

  • Proven experience as a Chef or in a similar culinary role within the hospitality or restaurant industry.
  • Strong knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices in kitchen management.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills with experience in supervising and managing teams effectively.
  • Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire team members.
