1:1 SEND Teaching Assistant | KS1 | Finchley
£100–£110 per day PAYE | September Start
This isn't one of those roles where you're constantly being moved around the school, covering different classes, or never getting the chance to build meaningful relationships.
Instead, you'll become the consistent adult for one young child in KS1 who needs someone patient, compassionate, and resilient to help them navigate their school day.
The child has significant personal care needs, so this role involves providing in-depth personal care with dignity, patience, and sensitivity.
Beyond personal care, your role will be about helping this child access learning, build confidence, develop independence, and feel safe and understood within the classroom environment.
This is far more than a classroom support role, It's an opportunity to be the person who helps a child thrive at school every single day.
The Role
- Provide dedicated 1:1 support for a KS1 pupil with SEND
- Deliver tailored support to help the child engage with learning
- Provide in-depth personal care respectfully and sensitively throughout the school day
- Support communication, emotional regulation, and independence
- Build a trusting, consistent relationship with the pupil
- Work collaboratively with the class teacher, SENCO, and wider support team
- Help create a positive and inclusive learning environment
We're Looking For
- Experience as a Teaching Assistant, Learning Support Assistant, SEND TA, Care Worker, or Support Worker
- Comfortable providing personal care as part of your daily responsibilities
- A calm, patient, and resilient approach
- Someone who genuinely enjoys supporting children with additional needs
- Strong communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships quickly
- Someone looking for a role where they can make a genuine difference every day
What's On Offer
- £100–£110 per day PAYE
- 08:30–15:30 school hours
- September start
- Supportive leadership team with a strong SEND ethos
- Excellent opportunity to develop specialist SEND experience
- Easily accessible from Golders Green Station
- Interviews taking place ASAP
If you're the kind of Teaching Assistant who understands the impact that consistency can have on a child's future, we'd love to hear from you.
Apply today for a September start.
