Are you looking for an opportunity to learn new skills and contribute to a team who are making difference in the scientific field?

Based in Chippenham, Wiltshire, Oz-UK operates a busy pharmaceutical R&D laboratory environment supporting multiple client programmes. We’re seeking a Laboratory Technician to provide essential technical and operational support to the scientific team.

Opportunity Highlights

  • Hands-on laboratory support role in a growing R&D company
  • Work closely with Scientists and Senior Scientists
  • Exposure to pharmaceutical analytical laboratories
  • Training provided on equipment and procedures
  • Stable, practical role supporting high-quality science

About the Company:

Oz-UK Limited is a privately owned pharmaceutical R&D company specialising in inhalation drug-delivery technologies, including formulation development, device testing and laboratory automation. Founded in 2015, Oz-UK delivers high-quality, client-funded scientific services to pharmaceutical partners worldwide.

We are a small, friendly team where everyone plays a role and supports each other. There’s a refreshing lack of hierarchy and we understand the importance of balancing life outside of work. Whilst this is advertised as a full-time role, we are flexible around core hours and open to negotiating a work pattern that works for both parties.

About the Role:

The Laboratory Technician plays a key support role within the Oz-UK laboratories, ensuring that laboratory facilities, equipment and consumables are maintained to a high standard and that scientific staff are supported effectively.

The role combines laboratory housekeeping, equipment upkeep, consumable management and protocol-defined laboratory work, following appropriate training.

It’s a varied role that is critical to keeping our operations running smoothly, from cleaning to supporting experiments. Every part of the role is important and requires dedication and attention to detail.

About You:

We are seeking a reliable, practical and detail-focused individual who enjoys working in a laboratory environment and supporting scientific teams.

Essential attributes:

  • Experience working in a laboratory environment (industrial or academic)
  • Strong attention to detail and good organisational skills
  • Ability to follow written procedures accurately
  • Willingness to learn new techniques and equipment
  • Good communication skills and a team-focused approach
  • Commitment to laboratory safety and good working practices

Desirable:

  • Experience in pharmaceutical, analytical or regulated laboratories
  • Familiarity with HPLC systems or chromatography techniques
  • Experience with laboratory stock control or purchasing processes
  • Understanding of GLP or similar quality systems

Oz-UK will provide:

  • Training on laboratory procedures, safety and equipment
  • On-the-job mentoring from experienced Scientists
  • Opportunities to expand technical skills and responsibility over time
  • Enhanced pension scheme and annual leave (based on 25 days plus bank holidays).
