Job Overview

We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Latin Tutor with Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) to inspire and support students in mastering Latin language and literature. Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver dynamic Latin lessons aligned with curriculum standards, ensuring clarity and engagement for all students
• Assess students’ progress regularly through formative and summative evaluations, providing constructive feedback to support their development
• Adapt teaching methods to accommodate learners with varying abilities, including those requiring special education support
• Foster a motivating classroom atmosphere that encourages active participation, critical thinking, and a love for classical languages
• Collaborate with colleagues, parents, and support staff to develop individualized learning plans and address specific student needs
• Maintain accurate records of student attendance, progress reports, and lesson plans in accordance with school policies
• Promote inclusive practices that respect diverse cultural backgrounds and learning styles

Qualifications

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with a focus on secondary education or relevant teaching certification in Latin or Classics
• Proven experience in tutoring or teaching Latin at the secondary level or higher
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively with children and young learners of different abilities, including those with special educational needs
• Strong communication skills to clearly convey complex Latin concepts in an accessible manner
• Knowledge of current educational best practices and curriculum requirements for Latin language instruction
• Passion for classical studies and a commitment to inspiring students’ academic curiosity
