Full job description

Trainee Solicitor (SQE or LPC transitional)

Overview
Twoyear training contract (counts as QWE under the SQE), rotating across four sixmonth seats. Experience will cover both contentious and noncontentious work and align to the SRA Statement of Solicitor Competence. Reviews will take place every six months. [sra.org.uk]

Responsibilities

  • Drafting agreements, enquiries and applications
  • Client attendance and notetaking in interviews/meetings
  • Legal research and drafting correspondence
  • Working on client files and providing administrative/legal support
  • Team participation, networking and business development
  • Keeping up to date with law and practice; attending internal training; delivering short knowledgeshares
  • (SQE route) Complete SQE2 during QWE (firmsupported)
  • Any other duties within the scope and spirit of the role

Candidate requirements

  • Strong academics and/or relevant experience
  • SQE route: SQE1 passed by start date; commitment to taking SQE2 during QWE (firmsupported)
  • LPC transitional route: LPC passed; PSC completed during the training contract
  • Commercial awareness and strong technical skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication
  • IT literate and collaborative
