Full job description

About Us

Buzzacott is a passionately independent and growing professional services firm. We are based in the City of London, with a satellite office in Hong Kong.

We are partner led and focused on people – our team and our clients. We combine market leading sector expertise and excellent service capability to provide exceptional service in our chosen markets.

Team Overview

Our Company Secretarial team forms part of the wider Business Services team, who provide a wide range of professional services to clients including bookkeeping, management accounts, statutory accounts, regulatory reporting to the FCA, VAT advice and returns, and payroll services. Due to the nature of our work, we also collaborate strongly with the tax team.

Our trusted team of 5 provide high-quality company secretarial services to a growing client base that ranges from charities to private clients, start-ups and household names. Our expertise is invaluable as we support our clients throughout their lifespan – from formation all the way to winding up.

Our team is at various stages of their corporate governance careers, from those in their 3rd year to others with over 17 years of experience - and everything in between. As a result, you’ll be part of a team that can offer guidance and support throughout every stage of your career and learning journey.

This role is due to commence in September 2026.

The Role

Despite the title, the role is not clerical. We ensure our clients are compliant with company law.

In addition to providing quality company secretarial services to clients with the Company Secretarial team, you will study towards a professional qualification issued by the Chartered Governance Institute (GradCG). Studying towards a professional qualification, as well as learning from our team of specialists on a daily basis, ensures you are well equipped with the knowledge to help advance you through your career.

What’s In It For You

We go above and beyond for our clients, but also for you. We have a genuine commitment to your development, offering you a closely supported and structured programme of tuition, provided by a top firm of external tutors. Internally, you’ll be supported by a manager who will act as your mentor, a trainee buddy, partners, senior staff and a dedicated Learning & Development team.

As you progress through your training you will receive incremental salary increases as you hit various milestones in your qualification.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Develop an ability to carry out research and solve problems by using accounting data, statutory legislation and other material – all with the support and advice from more senior members of the team.

  • Support clients to ensure they remain compliant with the Companies Act 2006 by, for example, ensuring that statutory filings are made accurately and within deadlines.

  • Assist with the maintenance of our client’s statutory records.

  • Assist with incorporating new legal entities.

  • Provide colleagues in other teams with advice and training on matters of company law and compliance.

  • Provide board and committee meeting support, including preparing board packs, attending meetings and taking the minutes

What We’re Looking For

  • 2.1 Degree.

  • 120 UCAS tariff points from 3 A-levels, or equivalent.

  • Level 6 (B grade using the old system) in GCSE Maths and English Language, or equivalent.

  • MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).

  • The right to work in the UK without restrictions for the duration of the training contract

What You’ll Bring

  • Excellent interpersonal skills in order to interact professionally with internal and external clients.

  • Able to prioritise workload and be self-sufficient; a multi-tasker; problem solving skills.

  • Displays ethical judgement.

Why Buzzacott?

We’re big enough to provide deep expertise across a wide range of specialisms, but small enough to value meaningful personal connections — with clients and colleagues alike. You’ll work alongside experienced professionals who will support your continued development, while you contribute to shaping the growth of both our team and our clients.

At Buzzacott, we’re committed to equal opportunities and ensuring all employment decisions are fair, objective, and based on merit.
